This blog will be a repository for pictures. I'm sure it will become completely and utterly overloaded with pictures of children. I apologize in advance for that.
I helped a friend bring four loads of branches and yard waste to the city dumping site, and afterwards my van was a bit dirty. I asked if anybody wanted to help vacuum the van, and right away I got two volunteers.
Eli and Kelson worked really hard, for about 45 minutes, to get the van nice and shiny.
OK, I know June wasn't a good month for me posting pictures. I'm planning on putting out some pictures which have been in the queue for a while. I'll start with something that seems relevant - swimming in the summer sun.
We have a secret location where we can swim. A friend's house in the outskirts of St. Peter.
With deck chairs!
It's a good place to test out vests and float.
Milena has learned how to walk on water. Good skill to have.
How do you know if a turtle is a she or a he? Well, if you are a trained epistemologist, you look at the underside of the flippers (if you know what I mean). However, for us laypeople, you look to see if it is laying eggs. If it is laying eggs, it's a girtle (girl/turtle - girtle. ha ha).
On Father's Day we stopped by my parents house for a quick "Hi there! Bye there!", and happened to see this turtle on the side of the road. In this picture, we can guess that it might be a girtle, but we can't be sure.
Now we can be sure! It's a girtle!
And, in case you thought that I had Kelson run out and put a ping-pong ball under a boy turtle, just to fool all of you, here is video evidence:
Really, they are. Seriously, would you let some strange person take pictures of your babies without permission? What an invasion of privacy. A good parent would have at least attempted to peck out the eyes of the intruder.
