Sorry Annie!

On the bright side, he does have three days for it to heal up!

How was I supposed to know that he would bring a chair over to the wall so he could play with a clock on his wall, causing it to fall down and bonk him on the nose? Kids think of the darndest things.

Even though his nose is red, he's happy. That's a good sign, right?

He even wanted me to take a picture of his foot. I'm sure that's a good sign.

Pictures - Nothing Special

If there's one basic truth to life, it's this - you can never have too much wooden train track.

Last week Milena was at Dora the Explorer camp. On the last day they put on a little show, so we went to the community center gym to watch. Kelson is more comfortable behind bars, apparently.

Kelson Looking Cute (and a test)

In a previous post I mentioned that Kelson would not put on his cute wedding outfit. A number of people have asked if he is still upset about it. The good news is that I think I got him to like his clothes. I took them out for him to wear, and he started crying and yelling, "I don't like that! I don't want that!" Then I said, "If you let me put them on you, I'll give you chocolate."

He said, "OK."

Now, apparently, he likes the clothes. Here he is, all dressed up.

And proof that he actually was happy. OK now the test. If I did it right, here is a video of Eli doing somersaults. It's about 4.7 MB, so click at hour own risk, depending upon your connection speed.

Before and After

Here is your standard issue Magnetix ball, about half an inch in diameter. It's nice and shiny, and a beautiful thing to behold.

Now, here is what one of those balls looks like after a week in the digestive system of a two year old. Not nearly so pretty.

A side by side comparison shows the disparity between the two balls. Hopefully the fact that the digested ball has an interesting story to tell will prevent it from being picked on by the shiny, "cool", balls. If nothing else, I'm sure it learned a valuable lesson.

Leah's Birthday Party

Wednesday would have been Leah's 5th birthday, so we made our annual trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum to celebrate her birthday. It was an absolutely beautiful day - the 80 degree weather was quite refreshing after the unrelenting 90's. It wasn't all that hot, but the kids needed to make sure they got their water breaks in.

It's not a birthday party without treats! The kids eagerly await the Special K Bars.

After singing Happy Birthday the kids (well, Koleman mostly) blow out the candles. Finally time to dig in.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Arboretum is playing in the small houses they have which show the benefits of having your house shaded by trees. The kids completely missed the educational opportunities, and just played.

The door pretty much lends itself to that pose. She pulls it off well, I think.

And here's a picture of all of us. Even though the only pictures were of kids, Michelle and I were there too, along with Grandma Karen and Grandpa Gary. It was a beautiful day, and a very nice way to remember Leah. She still touches our life to this day.
