Koleman was in another play this past weekend. This time it was a theater class that kids signed up through the community ed department, that culminated in two performances. The play was Aesop's Open Auditions, in which the 109th descendant of the original Aesop is putting together a new fable, and all the old animals get back together to audition for the new production. Here is part of the cast (the important part, since Koleman is in it):
Koleman all dressed up as a frog.
Koleman being dramatic!
Koleman with proud siblings.
Koleman's part had a couple of very good laugh lines. I took a video of one of his parts, when the director is asking the animals if they have ideas for a new fable.
All told, the play was extremely cute, and it seemed that everybody had a fun time.

I'm a Winner!
Thank you, St. Peter Public Library! It's February, which means that it is I Really Dig Reading Month, or Reading Is FunTastic Month, or something like that. Regardless, the library has been holding drawings for Barnes & Noble Gift Cards. I was in the library this morning, filling out one of their forms (Name, Phone Number, and Favorite Book - Lamb, naturally), when I dropped some loquaciosity on them: "Hey, what does a guy have to do to win one of these drawings?"
The reply? "Oh, you won yesterday, we just haven't called you yet. Here's your gift card."
Sweet!
We've got a brand spanking new Barnes & Noble opening at the mall in March. How exciting for me!

Macro Picture Answer
Michelle guessed the answer, but she doesn't comment on my blog, so you (the kindly viewers) were left without knowing what the picture was of. Here is a slightly larger view of the close-up.
And here's an even further away view of Walter and one of his bald spots.
And here are all the boys - Koleman (home sick), Eli (home sick), Kelson (finally healthy, but no school on Friday) and Walter.

Cleaning
Here are some pictures from happier days, before the flu and sinus infections. We try to get the kids to help us clean a bit. Here Eli is kid-handling the vacuum.
Eli likes to pose for pictures. He has his goofy "I'm posing for the camera" smile on.
As I type this, Michelle is at the doctor with Eli, to see if he is now as sick as the rest of us, or just decided to spike a fever last night for fun.
While Kelson was dusting, he had to wear the paper hat that Koleman made him.
The pantry doors would never get properly cleaned if not for Kelson and the wonderful people at Swiffer (a Proctor & Gamble company).

Don't Ever Tell Me That I Don't Do Requests
The lion puzzle is done. Finished. Completed. Roar!
If everything worked right (and I don't claim that it did), you can click on the picture and see the puzzle in high detail. Try and find all the hidden zebra, hyena, elephants, leopards, wildebeest, gorillas, kangaroo, marmosets and okapi. Really, try it. It'll be fun.
The puzzle is called "Pride of the Plains". Oddly enough, this picture is also called "Pride of the Plains". Now that would make a snazzy puzzle!

Elefun is fun!
OK, this probably isn't the most exciting post in the history of the world, but you're just going to have to deal with it. Eli, Milena and Kelson are playing Elefun, the game where a plastic elephant shoots butterflies out of its insanely long trunk. Which is exactly what elephants do in Africa.
I know what you're thinking, Larry, and no, Asian elephants don't shoot butterflies out of their trunks.
Milena and Eli make the international sign of Elephant Power.
And look, there's even video! Yee-gads!
You can even play Elefun online!

What the Big Kids Do
The Easter Bunny gave Koleman a puzzle last year, and for some reason he (Koleman, not the Bunny) hasn't completed it yet. Michelle and I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It's only a 1000 piece puzzle with curved edges, what could be so hard? So, we stared working on it.
Ten days later, and we're really making some good progress.

Karaoke!
I had forgotten that we had a little karoake machine, but luckily, amazingly, fantastically, I found it in the garage.
What luck!
Milena sings!
Koleman rocks the house!
Eli croons!
Kelson delights the crowd!
If Eli, Milena and Kelson could read, they would do even better on the whole karaoke thing. But if you stick with songs they know, they can do a passable job. Maybe not American Idol quality, but there's still time.

Sleeping Kids
Koleman has taken to wrapping his head up when he sleeps, and it's pretty darn cute. So I decided to take pictures of all the kids while they were sleeping.
Eli has been spending a lot of time with his bear, Little Cub. Eli is just a little bear cub himself, so they're a good pair.
Milena, being the girly-girl that she is, has all of her cute stuffed animals set up in a cute way on her cute Spider-Man sheets.
And Kelson, as usual, has Walter by his side.
