Legoland

On Koleman's birthday we drove up to Carlsbad to check out Legoland California. It was one of the destinations that the kids had been most looking forward to seeing. Here you can see the kids and Grandma intently watching something. I'm sure it was something interesting, but obviously I didn't get it in the picture.

Part of the park is called Miniland, with Lego reproductions of various places (mostly United States). It's actually pretty cool, even though some things weren't functioning properly. Here is some part of Las Vegas.

The Lund kids in front of a city. I can't remember which city. Let's say Cheyenne.

I think we're looking at the mighty Mississippi.

Here you can see Freedom Tower is nearing completion. Just like in real life.

Giant Milena waits for the train to come in.

Judging by the hills, this has to be a picture of Fargo.

Koleman found a couple of friends at Legoland.

I thought Harry Potter would have been taller.

Eli is unconcerned about the hammer that is about to crush his skull.

Milena and Eli went on a horse ride. It was just about the right speed for them.

They also went on a roller coaster with Michelle, Koleman and I, but I don't have any pictures of that. Just pretend this is us.

Tower of Power! EEEEEK!

There was a fun little helicopter ride. You were able to make the helicopter go Up and Down and Left and Right. OK, it wasn't too exciting, but the kids liked it. Grandma rode shotgun with Eli.

Kelson was in charge of Mommy.

And Milena and I were wild drivers!

Milena tries to save Eli from certain doom.

The kids really liked the driving school they had there. Milena and Kelson went to the little kid school with Mommy, and I brought Eli and Koleman to the big kid course. Koleman was a very responsible driver.

Eli needs to work on keeping focused while driving.
