We were once again saved from certain death by thick glass.
If this was 25 million years ago, my kids would have been eaten by a huge shark.
SeaWorld had a very cool place for kids to play. Milena, Kelson and Mommy are climbing up some nets. Really, it's them in the picture.
There was a bouncy jumpy thing that the kids really enjoyed playing on (and got a good workout at the same time).
Kelson was getting into it.
They even let giant children like Koleman in.
Here's a video of them on the jumpy thing:
Penguins are pretty cute. For flightless birds.
Now, I'll admit that I haven't seen March of the Penguins or Happy Feet, so I don't know how the media portrays them, but these are not graceful birds:
We went to the sea lion show, which was most people's favorite. It was funny and silly. Koleman sat in the front row, so he could be close to the action.
This is most of the cast - including the mime. Every submarine needs a mime.
Koleman gets a great view of one of the sea lions (Debbie, I think).
It's hard to see in this picture, but the lady is taking a can of Pepsi from a sea otter. The only thing a sea otter has ever given me is rabies.
After SeaWorld we went to Brent and Veronica's house for supper and American Idol watching. (Brent was an old school chum of ours from Fargo. He and I were best friends starting in third grade through high school. We can't stand each other now, but we're civil, for the sake of the children.) It was a slumber party. The kids had fun because they got cookies. Cookies are always a good way to get in a kid's good graces.
They put a mattress on the floor in the TV room so the kids could lay down to watch the show.
Milena fell asleep with her brand new Shamu.
Hey, look! Simon Cowell was there, too!
