They were taken only a few minutes apart from each other, so that makes them related in some way. Right?

Penelope wants to know, "Why was the mouse dead? Did someone kill it?" "Will Kevin write back? Will he tell us?"

1. After a long and fulfilling life, the mouse died after rescuing a young mouse from the clutches of an evil squirrel.
2. Yes. The evil squirrel killed the mouse after it saved the young mouse.

We were all so sad to see the dead mouse. We spoke well of it and knew it had lived a good life and was very brave in saving the young mouse.
Everyone speaks well of it...but what happens when the mouse shows up in your kitchen asking for a place to stay.
Brad - when your kid is older, you'll know the book, "If you give a freeloading mouse a place to stay." Then all your questions will be answered.
