Eli's (early) birthday present from Michelle and I is a new bike. On his old bike (with 16-inch wheels), he would pedal as fast as he could to cruise at 9 mph, and then relax and go 7 mph. He was working hard, but it wasn't quite working out for a good trail bike ride. Now he has a six-speed bike with 20-inch wheels. Here is the proud boy and his bike:
He also wanted to show a picture of the bike by itself. Snazzy, no?
We went on one ride, a short one to Gustavus and back, and it's already easy to see the difference. He still won't be able to keep up with Michelle when she is flying down the trail at 30 mph, but I think our bike rides will be much faster and more successful.
Now Kelson has Eli's old bike to learn on. It's a bit odd - Eli is on a bike with 20-inch wheels, and Kelson, an inch taller, is on a bike, with training wheels and 12-inch tires. Oh well, to each his own.

What a great lookin' bike - but a better lookin' boy!
Tanner just said, "Geez, he's like a kid now."
Yes, yes, I'm afraid so. They grow so fast!
Wow, Eli!! You look so great on our bike. It will be so much fun to ride with you this summer.
