The Mystery of Grandpa's Slippers

The last time Grandpa Gary was at our house, he couldn't find his slippers. The kids looked around for them, Grandma and Grandpa searched for them, but they were nowhere to be found. They weren't in their "official" spot, they weren't in the kids rooms, and they weren't in the mud room. See, no slippers:

But wait! As I was hanging up Eli's red winter jacket, I noticed something strange in the gray winter jacket that hangs in his cubby. You know, the extra one that is only worn if Kelson or Eli's jacket is wet or being washed. The one that nobody ever looks at.

Closer investigation revealed something strange in the sleeves of this jacket. Could they be slippers?

Now, I only know this fact: the slippers are in the sleeves of the jacket. However, I am willing to make a hypothosis. At the end of an earlier visit, Grandpa Gary thought that it would be funny to hide his slippers in Eli's jacket, so that Eli would be surprised when he put on his jacket. Unfortunately, Grandpa picked the wrong jacket, and his poor slippers have hung there, lost and forlorn, ever since.

Perhaps I am wrong, and there is a different explanation. But until proven otherwise, that is the story I am going with.

CSI is now investigating. It is checking out the "foot prints" inside the slippers. OH, What am I finding? Tiny little foot prints inside those big slippers. Therefore, logic has to say that if the last person to wear the slippers had tiny feet, then they would have been the ones to hide the slippers on their wonderful grandpa.

Oh, the shame of it all!

I'm sure that CSI has also done tests which indicate that people with tiny feet are unable to hang jackets on the hangers. Clearly the owner of those tiny feet had an accomplice!
