A Balcony with a view

Matt & Susan live on the sixth floor of their apartment, and their balcony gives a great view of the Catania landscape.

Wait, not that view. That's just a bunch of dirty buildings, many of them under construction. Pan the camera to the north a bit...

That's better! You still get dirty buildings, but you also get the view of Mount Etna. It's the largest volcano in Europe, and it dominates Catania (and most of eastern Sicily). It's a great reference point if you're lost - the huge mountain is north of Catania.

A slightly zoomed in view shows steam escaping from a vent on Etna. It is currently considered to be erupting. At night we could see the red glow of the lava, but I was unable to take a picture which showed that.

And, for fun, here is a time lapse video of clouds rolling in and covering the mountain from view:

How much time lapsed on the video and what were you doing during the lapse?

The video has about two hours of real world time on it. I was eating and playing Golf with Isabel, if I remember correctly.
